Overview

In this role, you will plan, coordinate and support the commissioning of mechanical, electrical and process systems for wastewater projects in Devon. You’ll work within the Infrastructure – Water South team to ensure safe, efficient project delivery and smooth handover to the client. You’ll engage with project teams, subcontractors and client representatives to manage commissioning activities and resolve issues. The position offers exposure to essential water infrastructure and a chance to impact local communities. This is a hands-on role with regional travel and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver commissioning activities, including procedures and handover docs
  • Review designs and subcontractor docs to identify commissioning risks and readiness for testing
  • Coordinate site activities and attend commissioning meetings with project teams and client reps
  • Monitor progress and produce reports, coordinate witnessed testing and training, assist with O&M manuals
  • Assist in resolving commissioning and snagging issues through to defects liability period

Key requirements

  • Experience or knowledge of commissioning within the wastewater or broader water sector
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities for cross-team collaboration
  • Good IT skills and methodical planning/documentation
  • SMSTS and CSCS certification, willing to travel to regional sites
  • A relevant engineering qualification is desirable
