Overview
As a Transportation Engineer at Stantec, you lead and support municipal design projects across Ontario within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. You drive delivery from concept through detail design, aligning with public sector clients and Stantec’s quality standards. The role emphasizes leadership, client liaison, and ensuring safe, resilient roadways that support community growth. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Direct roadway design staff and manage multidisciplinary project teams
- Oversee project finances, including budgets, forecasts, change orders, and invoicing
- Develop proposals, budgets, schedules, and maintain client relationships
- Collaborate with Transportation Leaders to plan staffing, equipment, and training
- Support Stantec Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety program
- Ensure project functions are performed satisfactorily and deliver progress reports and presentations
- Promote a culture of quality design and teamwork
- Engage with internal and external clients
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or LEL)
- Minimum of five years’ experience in project management or engineering design
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and customer relationship skills
- Experience with roadway design
- Experience with report and proposal writing
- University or college degree in Civil Engineering with road design specialization
