Overview

In this Backend Software Engineer role you will build core backend services using modern C# .Net Core for a scaling FinTech. You’ll work on distributed systems that handle large data with performance and reliability requirements, contributing across the full software development lifecycle. You’ll collaborate with a passionate team to design, implement, and optimise production-worthy software. This is a hands-on, growth-focused opportunity in a supportive, office-based environment in Central Newcastle.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using C# .Net Core
• Work on distributed systems handling large data volumes
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from design to production
• Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to build robust software
• Optimize and deploy production-ready solutions
• Take part in technical design and architecture discussions

Key requirements

• BSc in Computer Science or similar (2:1)
• Proficient in modern C# .Net Core
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle
• Strong CS fundamentals (OOP, data structures, design patterns, algorithms)
• desirable Python skills
• FinTech/financial services or consulting experience is a plus
