Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design mechanical components and assemblies for a range of clients from a Cambridge-based electronics-focused company. You will create and refine 3D CAD models and visualize concepts to drive development. The position sits at the core of product development within a fast-growing, industry-leading context. Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies
• Create 3D CAD models (SolidWorks preferred) and related visuals
• Translate concepts into manufacturable designs and drawings
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to refine specifications
• Support projects across diverse client sectors, including potential safety-critical domains

Key requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
• Experience in product design or development
• Hands-on 3D CAD modelling experience (SolidWorks preferred)
• Knowledge of visualization/rendering software
• Experience with engineering consultancy or safety-critical products is advantageous
