Overview

In this Design Engineer role you will support the end-to-end development of innovative lighting products within a global brand. You will contribute across electronic, mechanical, and optical domains, with a strong emphasis on PCBA and hardware design, to deliver manufacturable and cost-effective solutions. You’ll work on new product introductions, continuous improvement, and customer-specific projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet time and budget targets. This is an opportunity to influence product strategy and scale in a growth-focused company.

Responsibilities

  • Support design, development, testing, and validation of lighting systems
  • Hands-on work across electronic, mechanical, and optical design with focus on PCBA
  • Create and maintain technical documentation aligned with standards
  • Deliver robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective designs
  • Support new product introductions, continuous improvement, and customer-specific projects within budget
  • Collaborate with senior engineering, project management, and supply chain teams

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 5–10 years of engineering experience in lighting or relevant sector
  • Strong hands-on experience in electronic design and PCBA development
  • Experience in manufacturing or product development (high-volume preferred)
  • Knowledge of LED lighting systems, control circuitry
  • Understanding of manufacturing materials (plastics and metals) and processes
  • Experience supporting PCBA documentation, release processes, and change control
  • Awareness of EMC, thermal, and reliability design principles
