Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will strengthen the geotechnical team in London, supporting growth across disciplines and international projects. You will lead geotechnical design and reporting while collaborating with structural, civil, and bridge engineering to deliver foundation and earthworks solutions. You will manage projects from inception through delivery, including client liaison, proposals, and commercial considerations. The role offers exposure to diverse sectors and a chance to shape geotechnical design for UK and global contexts.

Responsibilities

• Independently draft reports, specifications, testing regimes and site investigations
• Draft proposals and manage commercial aspects of quoting projects
• Lead project management activities from inception to budgeting, resourcing, revenue recognition and invoicing
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and external partners/clients
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and grow the team
• Develop geotechnical design solutions across foundations, earthworks and deep basements
• Contribute to project design stages (concept to execution) with sound technical analysis
• Engage with industry bodies and partners related to geotechnics and foundations

Key requirements

• Experience in geotechnical engineering or related fields
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Independent drafting and report writing capability
• Proven ability to manage projects commercially and technically
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Good client-network or the ability to develop one
• Solid knowledge of foundation solutions, soil-structure interaction, deep excavations and earthworks
