Actuarial Reporting Manager – Canada & International Longevity

Overview

In this Manager-level role, you will own and shape Canadian and international reporting for a global life reinsurer, focusing on IFRS 17 and regulatory capital. You will interpret local results, explain movements in earnings, reserves, and capital to senior stakeholders, and drive improvements to the reporting capability as the business grows. The role offers international exposure and potential team leadership as you expand reporting coverage across jurisdictions. This is a chance to lead reporting for Canadian and Australian business and build a scalable, governance-driven process.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze IFRS 17 reporting for Canada and international jurisdictions
• Explain movements in earnings, reserves, and capital to senior stakeholders
• Own and evolve the reporting capability to scale with geographic expansion
• Improve processes and controls around reporting and governance
• Potentially build and lead a small team over time
• Act as country lead for Canadian reporting with accountability for Australian reporting
• Leverage experience in longevity and retirement-related portfolios to interpret regulatory and actuarial results
• collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business strategy

Key requirements

• Qualified actuary with at least 3 years PQE
• Strong life insurance/reinsurance reporting experience
• Good understanding of IFRS 17
• LICAT experience useful but not mandatory; exposure to other regulatory frameworks acceptable
• Experience across longevity, annuities, pension risk transfer or funded solutions
• Willingness to be based in London or Toronto and operate across Canada and Australia
• Ability to communicate complex results to senior stakeholders
