Shift Engineer

Overview

As Shift Engineer, you will help drive production success at Ball’s Kettering plant by maintaining and repairing equipment, supporting production goals, and upholding safety and food safety standards. You will work within a cross-functional team to keep lines running and implement preventative maintenance. The role offers a 6-day shift cycle and a pathway to contribute to Ball’s focus on sustainable packaging and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Comply with safety practices and corporate directives for safe work
• Support and follow food safety system guidelines
• Operate, adjust, and repair production and support equipment to meet specs
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Replenish supplies, materials, and parts for the area
• Provide and maintain required hand tools and follow SOPs
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department

Key requirements

• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience
• Apprenticeship in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with preventative and planned maintenance
• Ability to assist with breakdowns and line conversions
• Clear communication skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English
