Sr. Electrical Engineer, Sustainability Engineering

Overview

In this role you will drive the definition and deployment of electrical infrastructure standards across European Amazon facilities, focusing on EV charging, HV/LV grid designs, and smart grid initiatives. You will work with cross-functional teams to shape scalable, compliant solutions that enable sustainable energy tech at pace. Your work will influence procurement, maintenance, and cost planning for large-scale electrification projects. This position offers impact at scale across Europe and anchors Amazon’s net-zero ambitions.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop electrical equipment standards in collaboration with manufacturers and stakeholders
• Perform design validation and review to ensure compliance during installation and commissioning
• Serve as SME for LV and HV up to 24 kV electrical systems
• Define technical requirements for EV charging network infrastructure and smart grid deployments
• Drive the technology roadmap for electrical infrastructure, including EV chargers, substations, energy efficiency, and IoT technologies
• Develop business cases and present investment recommendations to leadership
• Coordinate with programme managers to ensure quality and standards compliance across large-scale installations
• Drive process improvements across commissioning, audits, VE, and cost controls

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Engineering
• Experience with design & innovation and R&D
• Experience managing engineering design projects
• Experience with MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software
