Overview
In this senior role, you will lead global technical and accreditation strategy for SGS’s Business Assurance Certification. You’ll set governance, policy and accreditation controls to ensure compliant, scalable service delivery across the affiliate network. You will influence senior leaders, manage accreditation relationships, and guide technical decisions on integrity and risk. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on governance and cross-border leadership, shaping how SGS maintains global credibility.

Responsibilities
- Set and drive the global technical and accreditation strategy with leadership input
- Lead and develop global technical and accreditation teams across multiple regions
- Define and enforce global certification policies, requirements and operating standards
- Provide authoritative technical direction and final decisions on disputes and risk issues
- Manage relationships with Accreditation Bodies ensuring integrity, impartiality and governance
- Ensure compliance-driven, commercially viable operations across the network
- Represent the division externally and act as delegate for the Global Head when needed
- Lead investigations and corrective actions for material technical or integrity failures
- Drive simplification, digitalisation and process improvement in technical delivery and audit approaches
- Contribute strategically to the direction of the Business Assurance Certification business
- Advise on certification, impairment, governance, integrity and risk to management
- Maintain expert knowledge of core accreditation and certification requirements
- Oversee global accreditation activities and support affiliates in accreditation matters
- Resolve conflicts balancing compliance, impartiality and business impact
- Collaborate with operations, IT, product and regional teams to adopt global best practices
- Identify improvement opportunities in procedures, systems and governance
Key requirements
- Graduate-level qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant technical or governance discipline
- Minimum 10 years of relevant certification and/or accreditation experience
- Extensive global or multi-region certification leadership experience
- Proven leadership of geographically dispersed teams and senior specialists
- Track record of setting or enforcing policy, strategy and governance at regional/global level
- Strong command of management system certification and accreditation requirements
- Ability to engage senior leaders and Accreditation Bodies under pressure
- Commercial judgement to balance compliance with operational efficiency
- Fluent English (written and spoken) and ability to communicate complex requirements to senior and operational teams
