Overview
As a Technical Service Specialist at Abbott, you support Midlands-based customers by installing, upgrading, repairing, and training on diagnostic instruments and software. You will perform installations, IQOQ, PMs, and deinstallations, while guiding customers and Abbott Ambassadors. You’ll conduct site inspections for new contracts and support business reviews, contributing to reliable lab operations. This role combines hands-on technical work with coaching peers and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced diagnostics environment.

Responsibilities
- Install and service diagnostic instruments, AbbottLink, and automation
- Schedule and perform planned maintenance and hardware/software updates
- Execute IQOQ procedures during/after installation
- Provide basic training to customers and Abbott Ambassadors
- Assist with site inspections for new contracts and tender preparations
- Deliver technical coaching and support to other specialists
- Support customer business reviews and issue resolution
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Proven track record in a similar role with customer references
- Strong customer engagement with stakeholders and lab staff
- Excellent product and industry knowledge
