Overview
As a Structural Engineer at Jacobs, you will help deliver world-class facilities for advanced manufacturing and data centre projects. You will work within a multi-discipline team to develop and supervise design from feasibility through construction, shaping pivotal infrastructure for thriving cities. You’ll lead plant design activities, ensure quality deliverables, and coordinate across disciplines in fast-paced environments. Responsibilities
- Organise and delegate engineering tasks to produce construction documents with a design team
- Manage scope, budget, and schedule to meet project goals
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, architectural, and process disciplines to develop integrated designs
- Independently lead plant design activities as a system leader and coordinate with multi-discipline designers
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced team
- Design detailed structures in steel, concrete, and masonry per BS, EN and international codes
- Use a wide range of design software, supported by hand calculations
- Liaise with REVIT & CAD technicians to produce quality deliverables
- Review submittals for conformance with contract and design documents
- Perform field activities such as observing construction
- Exercise judgment to develop plans or alternatives and ensure quality solutions
Key requirements
- Hons. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (FETAC Level 8 minimum)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Structural Engineering Design
- Chartered Structural Engineer or working towards chartership
- Good knowledge of Eurocode and International Codes (US/India codes a bonus)
- Experience in structural design software
