In this role you shape Zapp’s product and technology direction, translating business needs into a cohesive roadmap. You will work with the Founder and Executive Team to balance speed, scope, and technical investment while keeping customer outcomes at the center. As a hands-on leader, you’ll blend product strategy, architecture, and delivery to turn ideas into impactful products. You will build a high-performing engineering function that delivers reliable, scalable technology at pace. Responsibilities

  • Define product and technology direction in collaboration with the Founder and Executive Team
  • Translate priorities and customer/operational needs into a focused roadmap
  • Identify high-value problems and trade-offs between speed, scope, and technical investment
  • Ensure architecture supports near-term delivery and long-term growth
  • Own end-to-end product delivery from discovery through launch and iteration
  • Lead and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization with strong ownership and standards
  • Build reliable, secure, and scalable systems that protect the customer experience
  • Embed AI, data, and automation to improve customer experience and operational performance
  • Collaborate with commercial, operations, data, and finance to align priorities and communicate progress

Key requirements

  • Significant software engineering experience with leadership at VP/Head/Director level
  • Track record of delivering digital products from idea to launch and iteration
  • Ability to engage with architecture, reliability, security, and development practices
  • Strong product instincts and pragmatic trade-off skills
  • Experience building high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience operating complex, high-availability production systems in consumer/operational environments
  • Excellent communication with founders, executives, partners, and teams
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
