Engineering Manager – Global Football & Rugby

Overview

As Engineering Manager for Hudl’s Global Football and Rugby division, you lead two squads (Yellow Brick Road and Parachute) focused on Statsbomb, Hudl’s flagship football analytics product. You’ll shape architecture, drive delivery with cross-functional partners, and nurture a high-performing, innovative team in a global context. You’ll champion AI-enabled work processes and empower engineers to deliver game-changing features for elite clubs. This role blends technical leadership with people growth in a flexible, supportive culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical excellence through architecture and system design with engineers
• Drive product delivery by partnering with senior PMs and QA to ship features in a fast-paced environment
• Manage ~8 engineers across two squads, focusing on growth and team wellness
• Promote innovation by adopting AI tools and modern technologies

Key requirements

• 5+ years of experience in engineering management
• Strong technical background with architecture experience; proficient in C#, TypeScript, AWS, and Postgres
• Experience building customer-facing products
• Credible engineering leader capable of building trust through technical knowledge
• Forward-thinking with AI adoption and comfort exploring new technologies
