Overview

In this role you provide strategic civil engineering leadership across a portfolio of development projects, driving technical excellence and integration across disciplines. You will work with global teams and client relationships to deliver resilient infrastructure for public and private clients, including data centres. You shape buildable solutions from masterplanning to construction support, balancing regulatory compliance and project delivery. This is an opportunity to mentor engineers and influence multidisciplinary teams within a growing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and technical governance for development projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulation
  • Lead, review and approve civil infrastructure designs and specifications for complex site developments
  • Coordinate with ground, electrical, mechanical, structural engineers, project managers, architects and environmental consultants across the UK and globally
  • Support client engagement, business development, and strategic asset planning while mentoring engineers
  • Undertake project management across a portfolio of schemes

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or equivalent) or operating at chartered level with leadership and professional authority
  • Significant experience in development-led infrastructure engineering in private or consultancy environments
  • Experience in the data centre sector is advantageous
  • Experience delivering complex civil infrastructure projects with design capability in roads, drainage, earthworks, pavements, and underground services using industry-standard software
  • Strong knowledge of planning, highways, drainage, and utility approval processes
  • Understanding of BIM modelling, processes and collaborative platforms
