As Product Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow inclusive engineering teams building AWS-native platforms. You’ll shape technical direction in collaboration with Product and Architecture, while staying hands-on with engineering work. You’ll foster psychological safety, continuous improvement, and pragmatic AI adoption to boost developer productivity and product quality. This role combines delivery leadership with people management to scale reliable, secure systems and drive meaningful tech initiatives. Responsibilities
- Lead, grow and support inclusive engineering teams
- Foster a high-trust, psychologically safe environment and manage performance development
- Hire, onboard and coach engineers with regular feedback and clear development plans
- Align team strengths and future needs; support Agile/Lean practices
- Shaped technical strategy and delivery in partnership with Product and Architecture
- Guide development of AWS-native and cloud-based platforms alongside legacy systems
- Maintain engineering standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability and documentation
- Stay involved in design reviews and architecture discussions; provide hands-on coaching
- Balance feature delivery with technical debt, reliability, security and platform health
- Remove blockers to deliver predictably and sustainably
- Lead practical AI adoption to improve productivity and software quality
- Identify opportunities to embed AI into products and internal platforms
- Share learnings and outcomes to inform teams
- Own delivery commitments and plan work realistically
- Use meaningful metrics to improve transparency and decisions
- Enhance developer experience; promote healthy on-call practices and post-incident reviews
- Promote cost awareness across AWS environments
- Collaborate with other Engineering Managers through Communities of Practice
Key requirements
- Strong software engineering background with years in technical leadership and people management
- Experience building and scaling high-performing engineering teams
- Delivery experience with customer-facing web applications
- Comfortable in Agile environments with continuous improvement mindset
- Experience leading change across technology, process or ways of working
- Hands-on experience using or introducing AI/ML tools within engineering teams
- Solid understanding of cloud-native architecture, AWS and distributed systems
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language
- Strong grasp of system design and software engineering fundamentals
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, observability and secure production systems
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
