As a trusted People Advisor in Bidwells’ Cambridge team, you will lead and shape employee relations across the business to improve experience and engagement. You’ll coach managers through complex people matters, advise on policies and employment law, and champion wellbeing, inclusion and flexible working. Your work supports a people-first culture while balancing commercial priorities and legal compliance. This role offers meaningful projects within a collaborative, ambitious environment and the chance to influence how the firm supports its people as it grows.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support a broad range of employee relations casework, from performance and capability to disciplinary and grievances.
- Coach managers to handle people matters confidently and consistently.
- Provide expert guidance on HR policies, employment law and best practice.
- Support absence management, family leave cases and flexible working arrangements.
- Contribute to wellbeing, mental health and inclusion initiatives across the firm.
- Help improve employee engagement, retention and overall experience.
- Review and enhance people policies to ensure legal compliance.
- Support wider People Team projects, process improvements and business change initiatives.
Key requirements
- Proven experience managing diverse employee relations cases in a similar environment.
- Confidence coaching managers through performance management and difficult conversations.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience supporting family leave and flexible working cases.
- Continuous improvement mindset with examples of improving processes.
- Ability to balance commercial priorities with positive employee outcomes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- CIPD qualifications are welcomed but not essential.
