Overview
As Director of Project Engineering – Europe, you will lead a regional team responsible for delivering complex OT solutions (SCADA, EMS, GMS, ADMS) for electric utility customers. You will set engineering strategy, standardize methods, and ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery with a focus on quality and cybersecurity. The role partners with senior stakeholders across Professional Services, Sales, Product, and Executive leadership to drive regional growth and operational excellence. You will shape capabilities, mentor leaders, and drive continuous improvement in a multi-country, cross-functional environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a regional team of Project Engineering Managers and engineers
- Define and implement the Europe-wide engineering operating model and governance
- Drive on-time, on-budget delivery of complex utility OT projects with quality and security focus
- Establish engineering standards, processes, and review practices across the region
- Monitor performance with metrics and implement corrective actions
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, PM, Product, and Support
- Support critical customer escalations and governance with executives
- Champion continuous improvement, new technologies, and digital delivery methods
- Oversee capacity planning, resource management, and budgeting
- Build trusted relationships with utility customers and participate in strategic reviews
- Coordinate with Product Management and Global Engineering to align roadmaps and methodologies
- Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and industry standards
- Report regional performance to executive leadership
Key requirements
- 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in industrial automation/SCADA/EMS/DMS/OT
- 5+ years of engineering leadership and managing managers or senior engineers
- Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams
- Proven track record delivering complex utility OT solutions
- Experience with electric transmission, distribution, generation, or renewables
- Leadership through growth and organizational change
- Experience in matrix organizations and cross-border collaboration
- Experience supporting technical sales, proposals, and executive engagements
