Overview
As Electrical Maintenance Shift Engineer, you will maintain Critical Assets such as standby generators and UPS systems, carrying out tests, fault diagnosis, and repairs to ensure reliable operation. You will work independently and with the team to complete planned and remedial works on time, while upholding strict health and safety standards. The role involves using test equipment, following drawings and procedures, and performing lockout/tagout to ensure safe, compliant operations. This is a hands-on position in a safety-conscious environment, offering exposure to critical electrical infrastructure and active participation in toolbox talks and AP duties.
Responsibilities
- Maintain critical assets such as standby generators and UPS systems
- Perform testing, fault diagnosis, repairs, and update maintenance work orders
- Use test equipment and understand its limitations
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and ensure no live working
- Perform AP duties
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and attend toolbox talks
Key requirements
- Qualified to BS 7671 (18th Edition) in Electrical Installations
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical with AM2
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, plant, and controls
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings and procedures
