Overview
As a Transport Data Scientist, you will turn large transport datasets into actionable insights to shape policy, planning and investment. You’ll join a global, collaborative team delivering data-driven transport solutions for major clients and international projects. You’ll work with cutting-edge data, modelling and AI techniques to solve real-world mobility challenges. This role offers autonomy, technical growth and opportunities to lead or specialise within a leading transport modelling group.

Responsibilities
- Analyse trend data, perform clustering and data fusion to support transport models
- Develop advanced inputs for transport models using large datasets
- Apply machine learning, AI and econometric methods to solve transport challenges
- Build predictive models and translate insights into client-ready recommendations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Jacobs’ global modelling and analytics community
- Support data engineering tasks and data-driven decision making for policy and investment decisions
Key requirements
- Ddegree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Operational Research, Transport Planning, or another highly numerate discipline
- Experience with transport, mobility or travel demand analytics
- Strong proficiency in Python, R or equivalent for large-scale data analysis
- Experience handling large, complex datasets (trend analysis, data fusion, data engineering)
- Experience applying ML, AI, predictive modelling, econometrics or discrete choice modelling
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
