In this role you will keep bakery production running safely and efficiently, covering electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and continuous improvement. You’ll work across shifts in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, collaborating with teams to install, upgrade, and commission equipment. Your work supports high-quality products, strong safety standards, and world-class asset performance. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position in a growing bakery operation.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs on process equipment, bakery manufacturing plant, packaging machinery, and site services
- Carry out planned maintenance, modifications, installations, and upgrades to plant machinery and site services
- Fully utilise and develop the CMMS to achieve world-class asset performance
- Work across electrical and mechanical trades as qualified and authorised
- Manage contractors to ensure safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and contribute to CI initiatives
- Provide 24/7 engineering support as required to keep bakery operations running
- Collaborate with suppliers and maintain up-to-date documentation/drawings
Key requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent trade accreditation
- C&G 2382 BS 7671 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Recognised time-served electrically biased apprenticeship
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering (desirable)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a multi-skilled engineer in a related setting
- Practical experience in Food or FMCG manufacturing engineering
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Strong problem-solving and fault diagnosis skills
