Overview

In this role you will lead cost management across infrastructure projects from inception to completion, partnering with cross-functional teams and clients in the water, environment and broader sectors. You’ll work within the Buildings & Places Infrastructure team to deliver value-driven cost insights for high-profile clients like Anglian Water and the Environment Agency. The position offers scope to mentor junior staff, contribute to business growth, and collaborate on multi-organisation projects. You will be part of a global firm applying technical excellence to transform communities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver all aspects of cost management from project inception to completion, including feasibility, cost planning, procurement, tender documentation, value engineering, risk management, post-contract reporting and final accounts
  • Maintain professional competence and uphold the firm’s profile with clients and professional contacts
  • Drive performance standards and technical excellence through communication and practice networks
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and promote the firm’s premium services
  • Support internal team development and supervise junior staff on complex projects
  • Identify marketing opportunities and raise potential leads to Directors and Business Development for new work

Key requirements

  • Significant and proven experience in Cost Management/Quantity Surveying on large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Good knowledge of NEC4 contracts, especially PSC and ECC
  • Experience of working in integrated, multi-organisation teams
  • Experience within a client organisation or via secondment/colocation is beneficial
  • Ability to influence key client stakeholders and grow workload/portfolio
  • Chartered status with RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or equivalent (or near-term attainment)
