Overview
As Construction Manager you will lead multidisciplinary on-site construction within a live manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, compliant delivery of EPCm projects. You will provide visible site leadership, manage subcontractors, and develop team capability to sustain a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll influence projects from early design through delivery, working closely with engineering, operations and client stakeholders. This role offers the chance to shape critical pharma, biotech and regulated manufacturing initiatives at scale.

Responsibilities
- Lead on-site construction activities to ensure safe and successful delivery
- Manage and develop construction teams and create growth opportunities
- Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring safety and alignment with project requirements
- Build strong relationships with engineering, operations, project management, client stakeholders and subcontractors
- Drive a positive safety culture and ensure GMP, CDM, quality, and site standards compliance
- Provide clear leadership, direction, coaching, and support to site personnel and contractor teams
- Monitor progress, manage interfaces, and ensure effective stakeholder communication
Key requirements
- Proven construction management experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, regulated manufacturing or similar environments
- Strong GMP understanding and experience in regulated facilities
- Experience leading multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors on operational sites
- People-focused leadership with coaching and development passion
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of CDM 2015, Safe Systems of Work, contractor management and setting-to-work processes
- Experience with BS 5975 Temporary Works requirements
