Overview

Senior Data Scientist in Kainos’ Workday Products division develops high-quality AI/ML solutions for a growing Workday product suite. You influence design and delivery, potentially mentor junior colleagues, and contribute to production-ready analytics in a collaborative, people-first culture. The role combines research with practical deployment, aiming to improve functionality, scalability, and efficiency. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape enterprise AI within a renowned Workday-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver advanced AI/ML solutions for the Workday product suite (e.g., Smart, Employee Document Management, Pay Transparency Analyzer)
  • Design scalable models and production-ready implementations in collaboration with engineering
  • Deploy models to production and support MLops-related tasks
  • Lead or support line management and appraisals for junior team members
  • Communicate findings through interactive visualizations and dashboards to non-technical stakeholders

Key requirements

  • 4-5 years of relevant industry experience (or less with a relevant PhD)
  • Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and ML principles
  • Proficient in Python with clean, maintainable production code
  • Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Experience deploying AI/ML models in production with engineering collaboration
  • Experience with generative AI use cases (LLMs like OpenAI GPT, HuggingFace Transformers) for tasks such as text summarisation, chatbots, content generation
  • Basic cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Ability to create interactive visualizations/dashboards (Dash, Streamlit) to communicate findings
