Senior Broker

Overview

Senior broker role at a long-established London Market firm focusing on Property & Casualty. You will grow and service P&C books across the UK and Europe, leveraging insurer relationships and expert market access. You’ll negotiate terms, manage client relationships, and mentor colleagues in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. The position offers direct client contact, cross-functional collaboration, and a meaningful impact on portfolio growth and service quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a profitable P&C book for UK and Europe
• Support delivery of P&C targets and budgets
• Present risks to market and negotiate terms (in person and electronically)
• Provide market access solutions and placement support across the group
• Act as a key technical/market expert for P&C activity
• Build and maintain relationships with broker partners and underwriters
• Generate and convert new business opportunities through proactive engagement and referrals
• Manage end-to-end broking of new and renewal cases, including negotiation and documentation
• Ensure regulatory and internal compliance
• Mentor junior brokers and share knowledge
• Collaborate with finance, claims, and credit control for seamless client service
• Maintain accurate reporting and MI via system updates and logs

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in Property, Casualty and/or Package insurance within the London market
• Proven ability to develop and manage books of business
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong technical understanding of P&C risks and placements
• Commercially minded with a client-focused, solutions-driven approach
• High initiative, professionalism, and attention to detail
• Solid knowledge of performance standards and regulatory compliance
