Overview
In this role you will contribute to energy-efficient water treatment projects within the UK water sector, bridging design excellence and project delivery. You’ll work with MCCs, LV distribution, PLCs/SCADA, and instrumentation to support both new and legacy installations, while mentoring graduates and engineers. You will engage with clients to build trust and ensure compliance with design standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare and review electrical designs for water treatment equipment on client sites
- Work with Motor Control Centres, LV distribution, cabling, control philosophies, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA
- Produce and review technical specifications and procurement schedules; assess supplier bids and technical submissions
- Supervise and mentor graduates and engineers to develop skills
- Understand, apply and contribute to design standards, including Client and WIMES standards
- Engage with clients to build relationships and support their objectives
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., IET) or equivalent experience
- Water or wastewater treatment experience desirable
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
