Overview

In this role you will help shape the Investec Alternatives platform by turning market opportunities into scalable, well-governed fund solutions. You will work with investment teams, internal stakeholders and external providers to build a compliant, efficient operating platform covering fund administration, reporting and risk management. You’ll contribute to policy development and regulatory readiness while enabling cross-functional collaboration across the funds ecosystem. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence capital-efficient solutions for sophisticated investors within a supportive, performance-driven culture.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and manage a scalable funds operating platform across administration, accounting, investor reporting, cash management and hedge/valuation processes
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external service providers (lawyers, placement agents, administrators) to enable effective product development, governance and oversight
  • Support compliance, performance and risk management across the fund platform, including KRIs, KPIs and regulatory obligations
  • Evaluate new fund establishment concepts, including regulatory implications (AIFMD), fund structures and feasibility with risk appetite and infrastructure
  • Develop bank-wide policies on ownership, controls and reporting; maintain investor due diligence documentation and regulatory records
  • Support launch execution with business units and assess external fundraising feasibility and commercial rationale
  • Maintain operational documentation to support investor communication and regulatory requirements
  • Help ensure robust controls, governance, and risk processes are embedded in day-to-day operations

Key requirements

  • Experience in funds, investment management or institutional client environments
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen; ability to build business cases and assess product economics
  • Curiosity and market awareness; ability to identify opportunities and understand external investor needs
  • Strong communication skills; ability to distil complex information and build stakeholder relationships
  • Experience in fund administration, product function or investment management environment is valuable
  • Accountancy background could be helpful but is not essential
