Overview
In this role you will provide project controls expertise within an Integrated Project Team to support delivery of technology programmes from a heavy engineering portfolio. You will promote quality controls, schedule integrity, and risk-based decision making across project lifecycles, including bids, execution, and reviews. The role offers collaboration across functions and opportunities to influence project outcomes in a supportive, career-focused environment. A key hook is working on critical IPT-driven projects at a global aerospace and defence leader.

Responsibilities
- Ensure quality and integrity of Project Controls on projects/programmes through standardized processes and governance
- Drive schedule quality and apply best-practice techniques including schedule risk analysis across the project lifecycle
- Provide controls support during bid phase to enable smooth transition to execution
- Manage integrity of partner/subcontractor schedules and identify cross-dependencies and risks
- Conduct what-if analysis and scenario planning to support risk mitigation decisions
- Identify and manage Schedule Risks; apply Schedule Risk Analysis techniques and monitor mitigation actions
- Ensure Project Controls metrics (including Earned Value) are applied and actioned to meet project objectives
- Contribute to IPT and business reviews by delivering Project Controls inputs and leading review aspects
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across function and business area
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to influence project activities
Key requirements
- Comprehensive experience in Project Controls/Planning and methodologies (incl AGILE) across diverse project values and complexities
- Expert user of planning/ERP tools (ideally Primavera P6 and/or SAP)
- Broad lifecycle experience (initiation, planning, execution)
- Strong collaboration, communication, planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience in Schedule Risk Analysis and providing actionable recommendations
- Commercial and financial acumen
- Attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills
- APMG Project Controls Foundation and Practitioner Certification or eligibility for training
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders up to VP level
