Category Manager

Overview

As Procurement Category Manager you will lead end-to-end procurement across HR and FM spend, driving sourcing, contracts and supplier relationships. You will work in a small, high-performing team to optimise efficiencies, mitigate risk and contribute to savings targets. This hybrid role combines front-end market intelligence with cradle-to-grave tendering and SRM to align procurement with business needs. You’ll engage stakeholders to shape category strategies and deliver added value in HR and FM domains.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and tendering for HR and FM categories
• Manage contracts lifecycle including review, negotiation and renewals
• Drive supplier relationship management to improve performance and collaboration
• Conduct market intelligence and cradle-to-grave procurement activities
• Support supplier rationalisation, risk management and resilience initiatives
• Engage with stakeholders to define category scope and strategy
• Contribute to achieving procurement savings targets

Key requirements

• Indirect or Services Procurement experience (HR, FM, Corporate Services, IT, Marketing)
• Ability to develop and implement category, sourcing and supplier relationship strategies
• Proven track record in achieving procurement savings and supplier rationalisation
• Full lifecycle procurement expertise (tendering, negotiations, contracts management, SRM)
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills and proactive, collaborative approach
• Comfort with hybrid working (2 days in office, 3 days remote)
