Cost Manager – Commercial Developer

Overview

In this role you will manage cost across projects in the commercial developer space, supporting feasibility, cost planning, tendering, post‑contract cost control, and value engineering. You will work with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to protect value and drive profitable outcomes. The position offers leadership of cost management teams and opportunities to strengthen client relationships and improve procedures. You will contribute to delivering high‑impact projects in real estate and construction while upholding Turner & Townsend’s collaborative, quality‑driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Support feasibility studies and procurement reports
• Prepare cost estimates and cost plans with final presentations
• Manage tendering activities including pre-qualification and analysis
• Oversee post‑contract cost variations and change control
• Conduct cost checks and valuations for accuracy
• Produce and present monthly post‑contract cost reports
• Contribute to value engineering exercises
• Negotiate and settle final accounts
• Collaborate with clients, consultants and stakeholders across project stages
• Lead cost management teams and promote high performance
• Identify opportunities to develop client relationships and growth
• Assist with bid documentation and knowledge management
• Monitor financial performance using FMS
• Identify and escalate process improvement opportunities
• Review commission management quality and efficiency

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
• MRICS qualified or working towards
• UK Cost Management experience within Real Estate/Property sector
• Experience on larger projects
• Experience on new build and fit-out projects
• Excellent communication skills and client facing
