Senior Water Resource Consultant

Overview

As a water resources professional at Stantec you will support the delivery of WRMPs, drought plans, and related investigations, applying strong numerical and modelling skills to help optimise regional water supply and resilience. You will collaborate within the Water and Environment team, interface with groundwater, water quality and flood risk specialists, and grow your expertise in environmental assessments. Responsibilities

• Support delivery of water resource projects across WRMPs, Drought Plans and WINEP investigations
• Perform water resource modelling using Pywr, Aquator and Miser
• Apply hydrological analysis and numerical skills to reports and analyses
• Collaborate with groundwater, water quality and flood risk teams within the department
• Develop expertise in demand management and environmental assessments including HRA, SEA and WFD

Key requirements

• Several years of experience in the water industry
• Solid grasp of UK water resource management and drought planning regulations
• Experience contributing to WRMPs, drought plans or regional strategies
• Proficiency in hydrological analysis using Excel, HYSIM or GR6J
• Proficient in GIS
• Experience with water resources modelling tools such as Pywr, Miser or Aquator
• Strong numerical skills and willingness to learn
