Overview
In this role you will lead on-site mechanical installation activities for commercial projects in Central London, coordinating HVAC, piping and public health systems. You’ll manage mechanical subcontractors, ensure quality, safety and schedule adherence, and drive interfaces with other trades from shell to client handover. The position offers exposure to large-scale technology-focused schemes and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver critical M&E packages. This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear impact on project delivery and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee on-site mechanical installation activities (HVAC, pipework, public health) ensuring design compliance, quality and programme milestones
- Lead and supervise mechanical subcontractors, enforcing RAMS compliance and timely delivery
- Monitor site progress, chair weekly mechanical coordination meetings and report to project/commercial teams
- Ensure installations meet project specs, CIBSE standards and HSE regulations; conduct QA inspections and support commissioning
- Coordinate with electrical, architectural and structural teams to resolve interfaces and manage M&E clashes from shell to handover
Key requirements
- Mechanical Engineering or similar degree
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Must live within commutable distance of Holborn
