Overview
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will ensure monitoring systems are installed, configured, tested and handed over to customers. Based in Cowes, you will travel UK and abroad to client sites, including offshore installations, testing and commissioning equipment. You will collaborate with installation and project teams, producing reports and ensuring quality and safety standards. This role offers hands-on delivery across diverse environments with ongoing training provided.
Responsibilities
- Commissioning and acceptance testing of monitoring systems in-house and at customer sites
- Configuring hardware, software, sensors and data acquisition systems
- Calibrating and validating load, strain and structural monitoring equipment
- Diagnosing and resolving technical faults during commissioning
- Producing commissioning reports and handover packs
- Supporting installation and project delivery teams
- Ensuring equipment meets quality, safety and customer requirements
- Representing the business professionally on customer sites
Key requirements
- Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or equivalent experience)
- Electrical engineering background
- Understanding of industrial electronics, instrumentation or automation systems
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and internationally
- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces when required
