Overview
As a Project Engineer Electrical at Yorkshire Water, you will design, develop and deploy electrical capabilities across instrumentation, PLC/HMI, SCADA, and site data networks to support our asset delivery. You will lead technical and financial aspects of projects, ensuring safety, compliance and value for money within a high-regulation environment. This role sits in the Engineering Team, contributing to a ~70m AMP8 programme and regulatory resilience. You will collaborate with engineers, managers and technicians to raise standards and deliver resilient, safe water services.

Responsibilities
- Design and deploy electrical services across instrumentation, PLC/HMI/LOI, SCADA and site data networks
- Take technical and financial lead on projects to deliver best value and align with business requirements
- Ensure projects meet quality, standards, specifications and statutory, health & safety, CDM requirements
- Oversee customer handover against scope and ensure safe, compliant assets
- Contribute to short- and long-term strategic planning for electrical assets and risk management
- Support project governance and change control, including asset modification to improve reliability and affordability
- Collaborate with manufacturers and internal teams to identify improvements and resolve issues
- Develop and maintain standards for company operations and project delivery
Key requirements
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent (apprenticeship pathway) with broad experience in electrical and ICA equipment
- Ability to diagnose PLC/HMI/SCADA/instrumentation issues and implement changes with proper change control
- Competency to facilitate YW Electrical Authorisation (LV)
- Understanding of CDM principles and the ability to operate as Principal Contractor when required
- Current valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the Yorkshire region
- Strong communication and risk assessment skills
- Experience working with equipment manufacturers and project teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
