Overview

In this role you lead end-to-end procurement for a key residential low-carbon technology category, enabling revenue growth and margins. You will shape a category strategy, secure supply continuity, and govern supplier performance, working closely with planning, operations, finance, and product teams. You’ll drive commercial value through sourcing, risk management, and new product introductions, helping decarbonise homes at scale. Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end procurement for a residential low-carbon technology category (Heat Pumps, EV Chargers, or Solar & Battery Storage) with significant revenue impact
  • Develop and execute a category strategy to improve hardware margin via sourcing, renegotiation, direct sourcing, value engineering, and tail-spend control
  • Ensure supply continuity through dual-source arrangements and proactive supplier risk management
  • Manage supplier commercial performance and governance: contract negotiations, supplier segmentation, reviews, and escalation ownership
  • Collaborate with Planning (Materials Reviews and S&OP) to align inbound material availability with the integrated operating plan
  • Partner with Technical, Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Product to land new products, optimise working capital, and create commercial solutions

Key requirements

  • Commercial and supplier-facing experience in direct procurement, ideally in residential low-carbon tech or adjacent categories
  • Track record of end-to-end sourcing and multi-million pound cost reductions in supplier-facing roles
  • Strong commercial acumen: understanding P&Ls, cost drivers, and levers
  • Experience with low-cost country sourcing including Asian markets
  • Self-directed with clear commercial outcomes
  • Resilience and willingness to challenge norms
  • Ability to prioritise under load and manage multiple initiatives
  • Willingness to travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites (approx. one week per month)
