Overview
In this role you will help lead the development of a growing Scottish construction team within a top-tier international firm. You will provide non-contentious construction advice to a mix of developers, investors, public bodies and lenders, often collaborating with colleagues across offices. The role combines client-facing project work with contract drafting, negotiations and business development to grow the practice in Scotland. You will engage in thought leadership through articles and seminars, shaping the firm’s Scottish capability and market presence.

Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality non-contentious construction advice to clients across sectors
- Draft and negotiate construction contracts, professional appointments, guarantees, bonds, collateral warranties and related documents
- Advise on procurement routes and standard forms (NEC, JCT, FIDIC, IChemE) and bespoke agreements
- Author articles and present at internal/external seminars
- Participate in business development activities to grow the practice in Scotland
Key requirements
- Admitted as a lawyer to the Law Society of Scotland or England & Wales
- Background in construction and infrastructure projects
