Production Team Leader (FTC)

Overview

As Production Team Leader, you will lead a 15+ person production team in Glenrothes to build and test electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, driving safety, quality, and productivity. You will coordinate daily work, monitor metrics, and ensure smooth handovers in a fast-paced environment. The role involves cross-site coordination and potential BPSS clearance, contributing to Raytheon UK’s mission in defence technology. You will shape improvements with engineering and quality teams and promote a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a 15+ person production team across multiple shifts to hit safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets
• Coordinate daily production activities, run shift start-up meetings, and ensure effective handovers
• Monitor production metrics, equipment downtime, WIP, material availability and inventory accuracy to support efficiency
• Allocate resources and manage workflow to meet production schedules in a dynamic environment
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Materials to resolve issues
• Ensure compliance with work instructions, SOPs, and quality requirements
• Own and promote Health & Safety and 5S standards in the production area
• Manage team performance, attendance, training, cross-skilling, overtime, and timesheet approvals
• Be eligible for and willing to proceed with BPSS clearance
• Travel to Livingston site if required by business

Key requirements

• SVQ Level 4 in Operational Management or equivalent qualification or a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
• IT literate with Microsoft Office
• Eligible for BPSS clearance
• Desirable: electronics/electro-mechanical production experience
• Desirable: experience with SAP / shop floor control systems
• Good persuasion/negotiation and organizational/communication skills
