Overview
In this GI Project Manager role, you will lead ground investigation projects and manage client-facing operations from award to completion. You will work from the Southern office within an experienced team to deliver geotechnical services across infrastructure, energy, and environmental sectors. You will shape project delivery, financial performance, and team development while maintaining strong client liaison. This is a hands-on, office-based role with site liaison and a clear focus on practical geotechnical achievements. Your leadership and technical oversight will help drive successful project outcomes and continued business growth.

Responsibilities
- Plan and manage projects and operations within scope
- Develop and grow the business with the Operations Manager
- Promote the geotechnical service offerings
- Demonstrate knowledge across ground investigation techniques
- Oversee planning, supervision and programming of GI projects
- Project manage GI projects from award to completion (1M+ scale)
- Own financial control and reporting for projects
- Manage a small team of site engineers/technicians
- Support technical and professional development of team members
- Contribute to technical proposals, tender visits, and contract scoping
- Maintain fitness for site tasks on active construction/linear projects
Key requirements
- Degree-level qualification in a geotechnical discipline
- CSCS (Manager level), SMSTS, and CDM 2015 Regulations training
- Full UK Driving Licence
- 5-8+ years of industry experience
- Minimum 1 year of project management experience
- Excellent knowledge of GI specifications, procedures, BS and codes of practice
- Understanding of HSE/Environmental legislation
- Awareness of ICE and NEC contracts and contract administration
- Experience with geotechnical laboratory testing and data handling
- Experience managing large data sets
- Knowledge of borehole log software, data presentation, and report compilation
- Competent MS Office user
