Overview

In this role you manage a portfolio of high‑value clients, delivering tailored wealth planning strategies within the Schroders wealth management framework. You will develop profitable client relationships, ensure advice is compliant and in clients’ best interests, and collaborate with portfolio managers and marketing to drive opportunities. The role sits at the core of our wealth planning proposition, enabling clients to meet their goals through expert pension, tax and planning guidance. You’ll work in a values‑driven, collaborative environment focused on excellent client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of high‑value client relationships and execute wealth planning strategies and structures
  • Proactively market and develop new client relationships using available resources
  • Provide holistic financial advice covering pensions, tax and life events, ensuring profitability and compliance
  • Meet clients regularly; document and implement agreed actions swiftly
  • Own new client setup, sign‑off and suitability for advice structures
  • Highlight planning opportunities aligned with clients’ objectives
  • Serve as a knowledge resource for portfolio managers on financial planning matters
  • Contribute content to Marketing for external distribution and internal training
  • Maintain CPD and examinations; uphold Schroders’ values in all work

Key requirements

  • Experience advising high‑net‑worth individuals on wealth planning and tax strategies
  • In‑depth pension and taxation knowledge across relevant areas
  • An approved Level 4 or above FCA‑approved regulatory qualification
  • Achieved or near attainment of CII Advanced Financial Planning Certificate, Chartered Financial Planner or equivalent
  • Current Statement of Professional Standing (SPS)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with fund management, professional advisory, IFA or life company industries (advantage)
  • Minimum 3 A‑levels or equivalent (advantage)
  • Pension Transfer Specialist qualification would be an advantage
  • Strong understanding of UK wealth planning strategies for HNW clients
  • Good knowledge of Intelliflo Office and The Exchange
  • Professional and organised
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to present clearly under pressure
