Overview
In this role you drive the acceptance, delivery and integration of the Laser Source sub-system for DragonFire, a cutting-edge Laser Directed Energy Weapon. You will work within a specialist engineering team to align external partners, manage technical interfaces, and deliver work packages that advance a deployable air defence capability. You will shape subsystem definition and test plans, tackling integration challenges with a hands-on, cross-functional approach. This is a performance-driven role with real impact on a high-profile programme.

Responsibilities
- Manage technical and programme interfaces with external partners
- Support acceptance, final assembly, integration and test of the Laser Source
- Support functional integration of the Laser Source within the wider weapon system
- Develop technical statements of work, deliverables and acceptance criteria with third-party suppliers
- Lead technical work packages alongside project managers
- Monitor progress, identify technical risks and support mitigation
- Engage stakeholders and build productive working relationships
- Contribute to technical development and evolution of the DragonFire programme
Key requirements
- Experience in project engineering, systems integration or complex sub-system delivery
- Knowledge of optics, lasers and optical systems
- Understanding of electro-optical-mechanical equipment and integration activities
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and managing technical deliverables
- Ability to develop and manage technical statements of work
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to lead technical work packages and balance technical risks
