Overview

In this role you will handle a varied civil and commercial litigation caseload within a supportive Contract Resolution Group of a national law firm. You will work closely with senior lawyers to deliver high-quality service, manage client communications, and progress files using the firm’s case management system. Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters (excluding personal injury) including contract disputes, misrepresentation, professional negligence, and construction disputes
  • Handle fast, intermediate and multi-track matters for Claimants and Defendants
  • Liaise with clients by phone and in person to progress matters
  • Progress files using the firm’s case management system
  • Manage billing and invoicing for matters
  • Collaborate with and learn from senior lawyers to deliver high-quality service
  • Support development of lower-risk, practical solutions for clients

Key requirements

  • PQE in civil or commercial litigation
  • Strong experience advising on contract-based disputes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise
  • Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Confidence managing own caseload
  • IT proficiency including Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Experience with insurer-funded clients (desirable)
  • Solicitor (LLB/CILEx route), or FCILEx, or Equivalent experience
