Senior Advisory Consultant – Benefits Management

Overview

In this role you will lead benefits management for major programmes and capital projects within Mace’s Advisory Centre of Excellence. You’ll work with client teams to identify, define and track benefits, establishing governance, plans and realisation frameworks. You will integrate benefits into business cases, controls and investment decisions while shaping thought leadership and supporting client relationships. The opportunity offers cross-border engagement and a chance to drive tangible value in infrastructure and real estate projects.

Responsibilities

• Direct benefits management commissions across client projects and programmes
• Lead workshops and stakeholder engagement to identify, define, map and agree benefits, measures and ownership
• Develop benefits strategies, management plans and realisation frameworks for major programmes and capital projects
• Design governance and assurance arrangements to enable early agreement and effective monitoring
• Integrate benefits management with business cases, reporting, programme controls, cost, risk and broader decision-making
• Communicate complex topics clearly to diverse audiences
• Collaborate with Mace Consult to develop thought leadership and promote the Benefits Management offer
• Contribute to centres of excellence and support team development

Key requirements

• Five+ years of experience in benefits management or business case development
• Strong understanding of benefits management at programme and portfolio level including governance and reporting
• Experience developing benefits frameworks, management plans or realisation approaches
• Experience leading benefits identification and definition with stakeholders and translating objectives into measurable benefits
• Knowledge of HM Treasury Green Book and Teal Book and UK Government investment appraisal methods
• Knowledge of property and infrastructure sectors (e.g., aviation, rail, healthcare, energy, government)
• Strong research, analysis, presentation and reporting skills
• Flexibility to manage multiple commissions and internal development work; strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship management
