Overview

In this role, you manage the Firm’s financial information systems to ensure accurate, secure, and efficient finance operations. You bridge Finance and IT, overseeing implementation, upgrades, and data integrity while guiding staff training and process improvements. You will lead technology projects for the Finance function, coordinating with vendors and stakeholders to deliver reliable reporting and controls. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position at a top global law firm with a strong emphasis on data accuracy and system resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects across the system development life cycle
  • Collaborate with Finance to define requirements, analyze needs, and implement solutions
  • Create and document project specifications, plans, and processes to boost productivity
  • Update and repair software systems; propose innovative solutions
  • Provide functional/technical analysis and documentation for design and implementation
  • Develop test strategies and oversee system modifications
  • Maintain and support Finance and Accounting applications
  • Act as liaison between Finance, Technology, and vendors/consultants
  • Learn data structures and financial system aspects
  • Design and perform ad hoc queries, reporting, and analysis
  • Ensure data integrity, controls, and audit trails across applications
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies to support operations

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Information Systems
  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Project and group leadership experience
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Strong accounting/systems skills and financial analysis
  • Ability to train users and improve system documentation
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel VBA, SQL (SSRS), Power BI experience
  • Experience with relational databases, data validation, and reporting
  • Independent, organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
