In this role you will shape the future of manufacturing for Leonardo’s GCAP programme, driving robust engineering solutions across the lifecycle. You’ll work within a cross‑functional team to enable world‑class production and explore innovative processes and equipment. Expect exposure to multiple sites with some home‑based work, contributing to design reviews, manufacturing readiness, and factory of the future initiatives. Responsibilities
- Provide specialist input to project teams to ensure technically sound solutions meeting stakeholder requirements
- Lead Manufacturing Engineering sections of Manufacturing Maturity Reviews and governance through Lifecycle Management; contribute to manufacturing plans and readiness reviews
- Track external developments and disruptive technologies for exploitation and knowledge sharing within the project team
- Advance innovative manufacturing and testing processes for EW domain by studying requirements, materials, and equipment, and engaging with vendors/suppliers
- Ensure robust manufacturing/test decision information through product/process reporting and trend analysis
- Design methods to assure product/process quality, validate/verify process capabilities, and establish standards
- Foster a culture of manufacturing efficiency with infrastructure, cybersecurity, security requirements, capacity analysis, simulations, and equipment layout planning
- Collaborate with engineering to develop manufacturing/test requirements for future designs and influence early concepts
- Advise on improving policies and processes within operations and promote best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation
- Mentor and develop junior team members to build overall capability
- Provide domain experience to support customer engagement and product roadmaps
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
Key requirements
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing and test processes and principles
- Ability to influence with data and analysis to support reasoning
