Overview
In this role you will lead high-impact health data insight projects to shape Macmillan’s understanding of cancer patients’ needs. You will synthesize complex health and population datasets to generate actionable insights for strategy, service development, and policy influence, collaborating with internal teams and external partners. You’ll communicate findings to diverse audiences and contribute to a robust evidence base that informs national cancer policy. This is a cross-functional, matrixed role with a strong emphasis on impact and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities
- Oversee scoping and delivery of multiple, complex, innovative projects
- Synthesize insights from multiple data sources
- Share findings with internal and external audiences to drive change
- Manage relationships with academics, governments, cancer registries and research agencies to influence UK data landscape
- Disseminate research through conferences, reports, academic papers, media stories and stakeholder meetings
- Be a core member of the health data team and contribute to matrix-working projects
Key requirements
- Analytical and programming skills using Excel and R to extract, transform and interrogate large datasets
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques (modelling, predictive analytics, ML)
- Experience with mixed methods research and evidence synthesis (quantitative and qualitative)
- Experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders and refining briefs to meet outputs
- Understanding of the UK health and social care system; familiarity with NHS data and cancer registries is desirable
