Principal Geo-environmental Consultant – Water Sector

Overview

In this role you will lead technical management and specialist input across the project lifecycle for major UK water infrastructure programmes. You’ll characterise materials and manage contaminated sites to ensure resilient, sustainable outcomes, while collaborating with design teams and partners. There is scope to develop team leadership, client relationships, and strategic support across sectors. Responsibilities

• Provide technical management and specialist input across project lifecycles
• Characterise materials and manage contaminated sites for infrastructure projects
• Support design teams and contracting partners with expert advice
• Engage in client relationship development and potential team leadership
• Contribute to strategic business support for other sectors as appropriate

Key requirements

• Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or related Earth Sciences discipline
• Chartered member of a relevant institution (CGeol, CEnv, CIWEM)
• Experience in land quality evaluation and contaminated site management within a UK consulting environment
• Strong understanding of UK legislation and proven track record in technical reporting, risk assessment, and remediation strategies
• Favorable: SiLC, SQP, or CL:AIRE DoW CoP QP certifications
