Senior Network Specialist – Quant Trading

Overview

In this role you will design, implement, and optimize a scalable, highly available network supporting a world-class trading environment. You’ll work with a London-based team across data centers, co-location, and cloud providers to ensure performance, stability, and security. You’ll lead multi-vendor projects, drive automation, and provide L2/L3 support while collaborating closely with trading systems developers to deliver a reliable trading platform. This is a mission-critical, impact-driven position with a clear path to shape the next generation of the network.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, highly available network solutions in multi-vendor, co-location environments
• Manage project delivery and coordinate with internal and external vendors
• Coordinate changes under change control policies
• Provide L2/L3 escalation support for performance and availability issues
• Identify areas for automation and innovative networking solutions

Key requirements

• Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT discipline
• CCIE Routing & Switching (Enterprise Infrastructure) certified or MSc
• Minimum 5 years of network engineering and project delivery experience in enterprise or co-location environments
• Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP, NAT, IPSEC, GRE, VRF; PIM, RP, MSDP, IGMP, SSM; STP, PC/vPC/MLAG, CDP/LLDP, QoS, HSRP/VRRP, VLAN/VxLAN)
• Monitoring: LANZ, Sflow, Kibana, Prometheus
• Security: AAA (Radius/TACACS), device hardening
