Overview
As Environmental Strategy Manager at Cummins Daventry, you lead regulatory sensing and analysis across environmental and product non-emissions areas. You translate complex requirements into clear guidance for the business and anticipate developments to shape strategy. You will head advocacy programs and coordinate cross-functional teams to influence regulations while building strong relationships with regulators and stakeholders. You drive strategic frameworks using environmental data to support planning, compliance, and decision-making. This role offers impact at scale in a global regulatory context.
Responsibilities
- Lead regulatory sensing and analysis for environmental and product non-emissions areas; translate requirements into business guidance
- Anticipate regulatory developments, assess impacts, and provide actionable recommendations
- Develop and lead regulatory positions and advocacy strategies with engagement objectives and messages
- Lead cross-functional regulatory advocacy programs with Engineering, Compliance, Product, Legal, Government Relations, and others
- Build relationships with regulators, industry associations, customers, and external stakeholders
- Develop and communicate regulatory intelligence and unified messages to internal stakeholders
- Create strategic frameworks synthesising data, trends, risks, and opportunities to inform strategy and planning
- Manage multiple cross-functional regulatory projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including scope, timelines, risks, resources, tools, and processes
Key requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Environmental Policy, Law, Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred
- Demonstrated experience in environmental and/or regulatory policy
- Experience leading global, cross-functional initiatives to deliver regulatory outcomes
- Experience engaging with EU policymakers, trade associations, and industry groups (preferred)
- Working knowledge of EU regulatory frameworks: EU POPs, REACH, RoHS, WEEE, ESPR, EU Battery Regulation
- Ability to coordinate with internal counsel on regulatory risks
