Overview

In this role, you provide practical, risk-based compliance guidance to GS Asset Management International on alternatives investing, portfolio management and marketing activities. You will collaborate with partners, Legal and Compliance to shape governance, controls and policies across a fast-moving regulatory landscape. You’ll engage on strategic initiatives, regulatory reforms and training, helping to balance business goals with regulatory expectations. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role within a leading global firm with a strong compliance culture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compliance advisory on alternatives investing activity and governance requirements
  • Advisory on global asset management marketing and distribution, including marketing materials reviews
  • Support new AM fund launch projects from a compliance perspective
  • Prepare, organise and deliver compliance training
  • Review and evaluate new instruments/vehicles for compliance issues and surveillance needs
  • Lead strategic Compliance projects including enhancements and regulatory reform
  • Participate in compliance working groups for firm strategic initiatives
  • Develop and draft policies and procedures outlining firm policies and best practices
  • Conduct compliance monitoring and forensic reviews to assess regulatory adherence
  • Contribute to additional projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Key requirements

  • 5+ years of compliance experience; asset management experience preferred
  • Risk- and control-focused mindset with ability to balance commercial priorities with regulatory expectations
  • Knowledge of investment instruments, including alternative investment funds
  • General compliance knowledge with FCA regulations, MiFID and AIFM requirements
  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills with attention to detail
