Automation Engineer

Overview

In this role you will safeguard automated systems across Amazon’s EU Controls network, ensuring high availability and performance. You’ll analyze data from control systems and sensors to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to install, commission, document, and maintain equipment, shaping efficient, safe, and scalable automation solutions. Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot and repair key automated systems
• Collaborate with EU Controls network to track MHE metrics
• Create data visualisations of troubleshooting results for stakeholders
• Lead or contribute to continuous improvement projects within EU Controls
• Document systems and maintain accurate backup libraries with other departments
• Install and commission new equipment with global colleagues
• Support multiple sites in the EU Controls network as needed
• Interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and develop IEC 61131-3 based improvement strategies

Key requirements

• Experience with PLC-controlled automation in continuous production environments
• Experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems
• Fluent English (spoken/written)
